Tragedy in Japan. And still it's going on.We are like living a nightmare, aren't we?. Unemployment, misery, hunger, fights against tirants that pretend to stay forever holding the power, crisis, the rich ones getting richer and the poor ones being more. I wish some sparkle of hope will appear because we actually need it.
Tragedies like these teach us that life is a gift and that we got to enjoy it while we are still alive. This is my tribute to the japanese victims and survivors.

Wallpaper made for bodhi linux using blender and the gimp. The arms and hands were made with blender and rendered as wire and as solid. I opened both images in the gimp and I added the blue background, the bodhi and enlightenmet logos, and the text. After a while working on the gimp this was the result:

New wallpaper for the new Linux distro called "bodhi linux" made with the Gimp.
It's a new distro based on ubuntu, but with the Enlightenment desktop environment. It has an attractive approach, if you have tried other linux distros; it only includes the basic tools (a terminal, Firefox and Synaptic), so you are free to include only the sotware you like and not all the programs that other distros bloat you with. So from this simple gorund, you can build your system as you want with the things you want and no others.
It's still in development releasing candidate versions. Currently is on version 0.1.6 (release candidate 2) and the stable version is scheduled to march 27th.
It's a good candidate to become the distro I'll use in my netbook, because it's lighter than ubuntu. So I have made this wallpaper for it

Wallpaper for Enlightenment, reusing the wire logo rendered previously with Blender.
I was working with other image in the Gimp when, by chance, I got the soil or stone cracked image. It seemed to me that the image colors fitted well with the classic colors of Enlightenment, so I added the logo and after some work I obtained the final image.

Another wallpaper for Enlightenment made with Blender and the Gimp. I made two renders of the Enlightenment logo in Blender; one as solid and the other as wire. I opened both images in the Gimp with a factal and an image from the Hubble telescope called "Mystic Mountain" that belongs to a mountain of dust and gas rising in the Carina Nebula, image that is copyright-free and can be found here.
I ended with an image using 14 layers in the Gimp and this is result.

Latelly I've been testing, and I'm actually using it right now, a linux distro called MACPUP. It's based on Puppy Linux, but its difference is the use of Enlightenment as Desktop environment. Enlightenment is a low resources Desktop system and really beautiful. Apart from that now it seems it's getting speed in its devolopment.
The fact is that I have made a wallpaper for Enlightenment. Using first Inkscape to copy the logo, later with Blender to extrude, texture and lighting the 3D logo and finally with the Gimp to mix the 3D image with a fractal and a well known wallpaper called CarbonFiber.
